Organizational chart

PCDI is a small, streamlined and professional organisation. In collaboration with a voluntary team of postdocs and PhD students - the postdoc committee - we organise tailored career development activities for young scientists.

PCDI organises its activities in close cooperation with the Association of Universities in the Netherlands (VSNU - Vereniging van Samenwerkende Nederlandse Universiteiten) to enhance the career perspectives of young scientists in Dutch academia and the encourage academic institutions to contribute to their career development, thus improving the prospects of talented scientists.

PCDI is endorsed by many important institutions working within and beyond the Dutch academia, such as:

PCDI was founded by professor Peter Peters, dean of postdoctoral affairs at the Netherlands Cancer Institute (NKI) and Drs Lilian Menu. PCDI continued Peter Peters earlier work at the NKI; the NKI postdoc retreats are now organised under the PCDI banner. Since its foundation in 2007 PCDI postdoc retreats are accessible to all postdocs and final year PhDs in the life sciences, health and technology in the Netherlands.
