Explore the world of Life Sciences

As a PhD student or postdoc, you are not new, not a starter, in your profession. Neither is the position you have the end-stage of your career. A postdoc is a fixed-term contract and it should be considered as a period in which you further develop yourself, whatever you choose to do next.

There you are, a PhD in the Life Sciences. You certainly know a lot about your research topics, different experimental techniques, how to present this to other scientists and how it fits in the current scientific knowledge. We now invite you to take the next step, if you haven’t done so.

The life of a scientist is certainly not limited to the academic world. Look beyond your laboratory and think about how you (could) contribute to the world of Life Sciences and society. Discover what impact you can have with your PhD, as a professional, with your expertise. As an entrepreneur you could turn scientific inventions into useful applications for society. With your knowledge you could play a role in creating social support for research funding by communicating science to lay people. What are the research priorities in the Netherlands and how does your research fit in academia and biobusiness? Research policies are defined by scientists and you could lobby too!
