PCDI does invaluable work for the career development of young scientific talent. That is one of the outcomes of the VSNU (Association of Universities in the Netherlands) conference 'Talent moet stromen' ('Talent must flow') held on the 10^th of July 2009.

On the 12^th of May 2009 de Volkskrant paid attention to PCDI's work in postdoc career development in a feature length article in VKBanen. Both the hurdles as well as the opportunities that await scientists in their early careers received ample attention.

Peter Peters, who organised the first postdoc retreat at the NKI (Netherlands Cancer Institute) in 1999, again highlighted the importance of postdoc career development on MedNet. Peter Peters is still intimately involved in PCDI behind the scenes.

On the 14^th of April 2008, Lilian Menu, general manager of PCDI, took part in an interview with Robbert Dijkgraaf on 'BNR Newsradio'. The interview focuses on career perspectives in the life sciences, and on PCDI's role in postdoc career development.

Thanks in part to its efforts in postdoc career development, the NKI (Netherlands Cancer Institute) ends up high on The Scientist's 'Best Places To work 2008: Postdocs'.

Alexander Griekspoor, who was involved in the organisation of some of the earliest postdoc retreats at the NKI, describes his own experience with career development in Nature ("Torn between two ladders"). The NKI postdoc retreats feature prominently in his experience.

Christie Aschwanden looks at ways in which institutes are 'Professionalizing the Postdoctoral Experience' in The Cell and deems the postdoc retreats worthy of mention.

In 2000 (vol. 403, no. 6767) Nature dedicated several editorials to the plight of postdoc career development. The NKI postdoc retreats, which first took place in 1999, got an honourable mention as well.
